Volunteers have been thanked for giving up their time to help maintain a popular pocket park.

People were invited to help out at Desborough pocket park earlier this month, with jobs including regravelling the steps, some pruning, sowing wildflowers and clearing the river.

Youngsters were also encouraged to go along and have a go at pond dipping.

And everyone who helped out for a couple of hours was treated to a cup of soup afterwards.

Keith Brown, vice chairman of the pocket park committee, said: “On behalf of the committee, I would like to say a big thank you to all the volunteers who make the park what it is.”

Volunteer events are held at the park several times each year.

Anyone interested in getting involved at future events can search for Desborough Pocket Park on Facebook for more details.
