Two village primary schools are to share a headteacher in an agreement designed to bring benefits to both of them.
Governors from Warmington and Titchmarsh Primary Schools signed the deal last month, which has seen Josie Milton take over as headteacher of both at the start of this academic year.
Mrs Milton had previously been head of Titchmarsh Primary School. Chairman of governors Dr Albin Wallace said the new venture would benefit both schools.
He added: “The thing that’s very exciting about it is that we are getting a great deal of convergence – shared experiences, shared training, shared resources. Titchmarsh and Warmington are small, successful schools with high academic standards and commitment to serving educational needs of their local communities.”
Dr Wallace also said he believed parents would be supportive of the change.
He added Mrs Milton had presided over a period of unprecedented growth and improvement during her time in charge at Titchmarsh.
