A VILLAGE is gearing up for its popular annual road races.

On Easter Monday the Stanwick Races group will be holding the annual 10k road race for adult runners and also a 2K fun run for children under 15.

The main race starts in High Street at 10.30am near Stanwick Club. The route takes in Higham Road, Rushden and Higham bypass and Kimbolton Road to Chelveston, then Water Lane, Raunds Road and Chelveston Road back into Stanwick.

The 2Km fun run starts from the same place about five minutes after the main race and winds its way around the village and back to the start area.

A road closure order will be in place for High Street and Higham Road, Stanwick, during the races.

All competitors who finish receive a medal and there are trophies for the winners.

The group would be keen to hear from volunteers who could assist in setting up first thing in the morning and also with marshalling the races.

Anyone who is interested in competing or assisting can visit www.stanwickraces.org.uk for details.
