Friends and family of Kettering youngster Kyian Taylor have taken part in a fundraising football tournament in his memory.
Kyian, five, died in summer 2012 after a short fight against leukaemia.
More than a dozen adult and child teams took part in the competition today (Saturday, July 6) at the Ise Lodge football pitches in Kettering.
There was a similar tournament held last year, but Kyian’s mum, Leanne Payne, said they hoped to raise more money for Wishes 4 Kids this year.
She added: “It’s bigger this year. Last year we only had two adult teams against each other.”
As well as the tournament, there was a raffle to give out prizes awarded by a host of local businesses. Stadium tours at the homes of Liverpool and Leicester City were also auctioned.
“We have had so much donated, we are so lucky with all the local shops, restaurants, companies – everbody,” said Lizzie Hall, one of the organisers.
Lizzie will also be doing a 13,000 feet tandem skydive tomorrow (Sunday) in Hinton. She has already raised £700 before gift aid is taken into consideration.
She said she was a bit nervous about the jump, adding: “I thought this day would never come.”
