Thousands of people are expected to flock to the Rockingham Speedway near Corby this weekend to take advantage of a cut-price clothing sale.
The twice-yearly sale staged by Joules saw hundreds of people, eager to get their hands on a Christmas bargain, queueing as doors were opened.
As many as 5,000 people are expected over the course of the weekend, accordingt to Leigh Gosson, head of shows for Joules, whose warehouse is in Corby.
“It’s a good location based on the fact there’s car parking for hundreds,” he added. “It’s local – it’s in the heartlands of Joules. It seems like the ideal location for the clearance sale.”
Among the shoppers was a group of four – Val Jones, Nicola Parker, Donna Newman and Natalie Lavery – who had travelled from Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire.
“It’s worth coming because if you don’t you think you might have missed out,” Nicola said. “It was better organised this year.”
Donna added: “It’s always good quality stuff.”
The sale is open until 6pm this evening and between 10am and 4pm tomorrow.
