A plucky chicken was egg-sausted after laying her second giant 25 million-to-one egg with three yolks.
Young owner Danielle South, 13, of Kettering, cracked up after Hazel the Superhen laid her second triple-yolk egg in a week.
Danielle, who goes to Latimer Arts College, Barton Seagrave, said: “We thought there was something in there, like a chick.
“My neighbour Trina opened it and we went ‘Oh my God.’
“Considering I’ve never had a chicken before it’s pretty amazing.”
Six-month-old Hazel, one of three chickens the family keeps at their home in Stamford Road, only started laying last Friday – and her first egg had two yolks.
Danielle’s neighbour Hope, 13, noticed Hazel had laid another giant egg a few days later as Danielle was away. She opened it to find three yolks inside.
Mum Trina said: “I was amazed. I called Danielle.
“I scrambled it. It was lovely.”
Then Hazel laid another triple-yolk egg on Tuesday and this time the family caught the moment they opened it on video. The chance of two eggs with three yolks is 62 trillion-to-one.
The chance of winning the UK Lottery is just under 14 million-to-one.
