Real ales enthusiasts have been spoilt for choice at the Welland Valley Beer Festival, which is taking place today and tomorrow (Saturday and Sunday, June 8 and 9) at pubs across the area.
Nine pubs, including The George, in Ashley, the Talbot Inn, in Gretton, the Sondes Arms in Rockingham, the Royal George in Cottingham and the Old White Hart and Marquess of Exeter, both in Lyddington are taking part in the event.
The Queen’s Head, in Sutton Bassett, the Shoulder of Mutton, in Great Bowden near Market Harborough and the Wheel and Compass, in Weston by Welland, are also taking part.
Customers can visit the pubs using a number of vintage buses (see the video, above).
Tina Fisher, landlady of the Talbot Inn, in Gretton, said: “This is the second year I’ve been involved and last year was really good, considering the weather.
“We have beers on offer from all over the country.”
