A video reminding people to think about recycling during the World Cup tournament has been made by Kettering Council.
Recycling Week 2014 runs from today, June 16, until Friday, June 22.
Throughout Recycling Week, Northamptonshire’s Recycling Officers will be umpiring across the county to support residents with recycling both at home and away during the start of the World Cup season.
A number of events have been organised to remind residents about recycling.
Tomorrow (Tuesday, June 17), in Corby, a recycling roadshow will be taking place in Willow Place betwee 10am and 2.30pm.
This Friday, in Kettering town centre there will be an interactive trailer to giving residents free advice, tips and information.
Other events are taking place in Northampton and youngsters in schools across the county are being visited by the Recycler Robot.
Cllr Chris Millar, chairman of the Northamptonshire Waste Partnership said: “Recycle Week is a great opportunity to remind the residents of Northamptonshire of the array of rubbish that they can now recycle in the county.
“Glass, cans, paper, card, cartons, plastics, batteries and many more can all be put back into use rather than being landfilled.
“During the week Officers will be out and about across the county attending events with information and advice on how to recycle your rubbish and all of this information is also available on our website - www.recyclefornorthamptonshire.gov.uk.”
