Eight people have been arrested by police in a series of morning drugs raids in Kettering and Wellingborough this morning (Thursday, April 3).
In one of the raids, blocked off Montagu Street to both traffic and pedestrians shortly after 9am.
Armed officers held a man at gunpoint during the operation.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: “Drugs warrants were executed this morning in Kettering and Wellingborough.
“Two of these were in Kettering and one in Wellingborough.
“As a result, eight men have been arrested on suspicion of drug offences and handling stolen goods and are currently being held in custody for questioning.
“Officers for the firearms team were deployed to support the operation.
“Police are currently completing searches of the three properties.”
An eyewitness told the Telegraph a raid had taken place at a house near the junction with Wellington Street and was led by armed police alongside other officers using battering rams and riot shields.
Another person at the scene said they had seen armed officers using a blue Land Rover to block Montagu Street near the junction with Wellington Street.
The other two raids took place in Dahlia Road in Kettering and Minerva Way in Wellingborough.
The road closures caused delays in Kettering town centre as traffic was redirected.
A number of eyewitnesses took to Twitter and shared photos, including one of a man lying prone while he is covered by officers carrying guns.
However, the All Saints beat team tweeted: “Everything is OK and will return to normal as soon as it can no need to worry about the incident.”
