Budding tennis players inspired by Andy Murray’s famous Wimbledon win were encouraged to develop their skills at an open day held at Corby Tennis Centre today (Sunday).
The free event was open to people of all ages who are keen to take up the sport.
Craig Howarth, tennis centre manager, said: “We had a huge amount of interest. The event was free and open to people of all ages. We expected a lot of interest because of the Andy Murray effect.
“We had all sorts of things going on; from mini tennis for little ones, to beat the pro matches.”
The pros taking on the visitors today were Kevin Hoey and Jack Howarth, who will represent Northamptonshire in the men’s county cup in Oxford next week.
