VIDEO: Lost tortoise given shell-ter until owners are found

Staff at a Rushden vets have appealed for the owner of a lost tortoise.

The female Hermann’s tortoise was found wandering along Newton Road in the town at about 5pm on Tuesday, July 16, and was handed in to the Well Pets Veterinary Centre.

But staff there have only just made a public search for its owners because they had expected somebody to come forward straightaway.

A spokesman for the Wellingborough Road vets said: “He’s reasonably small. We think he’s about 15 years old.”
