Organisers of the annual Geddington Garage Sale, on Saturday, May 11, say this years event will be perfect for bargain hunters as more than 100 villagers are taking part.
The event, which has been running for about six years, is to raise money for the Friends of the Church group, which supports Geddington’s St Mary Magdalen Church.
This year, more than 100 people will be selling items, including books, toys and clothes and refreshments, from their garages.
Jackie Binley, who is part of the Friends of the Church group and the main organiser of the Garage Sale, said: “The group raises money for the upkeep of the church and we try and devise different ways of making money.
“The garage sale is very popular and thousands of people visit to see what they can find.
“We sell maps so people can find their way around.
“Geddington is very community-minded, and there is always something going on.”
While the event supports the Friends group, individual sellers are also free to raise money for charities of their own choice. Last year, people supported Cancer Research UK and the Lakelands Hospice, among others.
The event runs from 10am to 3pm.
