The Brigstock Flower Festival has returned to the village for the first time in more than a decade and organisers have said they are delighted it is back.
A number of themed flower displays are on show at the festival at St Andrew’s Church, and church warden Carl Hector said he is hopeful of a good turnout this afternoon.
The theme for the festival is “Saints” and the flower displays are each inspired by a certain patron saint, ranging from St Andrew, the patron saint of Scotland, to St Hubert, the patron saint of hunting.
The festival began yesterday and runs today (Sunday June 30) until 4pm. The festival will culminate with a ‘Songs of Praise’ ceremony inside the church from 6pm to 7pm.
Admission to the flower festival is free and a programme detailing the exhibits will be on sale for £1. Homemade refreshments will be served all day.
