VIDEO and PICTURES: Rushden factory fire was arson

A fire which destroyed a partially-built factory on saturday night is being treated as arson.

Fire crews were called to the blaze in Norris Way, Rushden, at 11.39pm and began to tackle the fire.

The factory, at the bottom of Norris Way, heading on to Francis Court, and on the opposite side of the road to the Impact Colours building, was under construction.

Two fire crews from Wellingborough, one from Rushden, one from Irthlingborough, and an aerial appliance from Moulton, Northampton, attended the scene.

Northants Fire and Rescue say the cause is now being treated as arson.

Firefighters were present at the scene of the fire untill Sunday morning, but were unable to prevent the factory being destroyed by the flames.

The blaze also caused heat damage to a portable unit and a streetlight.
