A householder was subjected to a terrifying ordeal early this morning.

Three men broke in to a house in Little Meadow, Great Oakley, at about 3.30am this morning (MOnday, March 23), threatened the occupants and assaulted one of them.

They stole jewellery and only escaped as police were arriving. The victim suffered a head injury which required stitches.

One of the men is described as dark-skinned, about 5ft 7in and skinny.

He was wearing a white hooded top with the hood up, a black balaclava and a dark scarf around his mouth.

The second man was white, about 5ft 7in, skinny and dressed in dark clothing.

The third man was also white, about 5ft 7in and also skinny.

He was wearing a burgundy hooded top and black balaclava.

Witnesses, or anyone with information, is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
