A road worker is in a stable condition after being badly injured while working on the A14 roadworks near Kettering.
The 25-year-old man was airlifted to hospital on Sunday afternoon after being run over by a dumper truck on the eastbound carriageway of the A14 between Junctions 7 and 8.
He was taken to the major trauma centre at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire after sustaining serious injuries, including a large haemmorrhage to the groin and suspected leg and pelvic fractures.
His condition was described as critical but stable at the time.
A police spokesman said today (Friday) that the man’s condition was now stable.
The police and the Health & Safety Executive are investigating the incident.
