Update: Man charged with robbery after Kettering shop raid

Police have charged a man with robbery after a raid at a Kettering shop on Sunday evening (June 30).

Police were called to the incident at the News and Booze store, in Rockingham Road, at about 7.10pm and said they caught a man in the process of stealing money from the shop.

When officers arrived at the store members of staff were outside.

No members of the public were present at the time and nobody was harmed.

Police have not yet revealed what the man was armed with but have confirmed it was not a firearm.

Officers said a 43-year-old man has been charged with robbery.
