A man has been charged with a series of offences in connection with two robberies in Kettering General Hospital’s car park.

Steven Argo, 37, was arrested on Tuesday afternoon in connection with the incidents, which took place on Wednesday and Thursday last week.

Argo, of Huntingdon Gardens, Market Harborough, appeared before magistrates in Northampton today (Thursday, April 3) charged with two robberies, possession of a bladed weapon and grevious bodily harm.

He is alleged to have wounded a woman with a Stanley knife in the hospital car park on Thursday, March 27.

He is also alleged to have carried out two robberies on Wednesday, March 26, stealing money from two different victims.

He was remanded in custody and will appear before Northampton Crown Court on Friday, April 18.

Hospital bosses last week urged staff to be vigilant while Det Sgt Paul Powell, who is leading the investigation, said officers believed the “highly unusual” incidents were linked.

Det Insp Alistair Reynolds added that patrols at the hospital had been doubled up in response to the incidents.
