A dancer from Kettering will be appearing in the Britain’s Got Talent grand final after her dance troupe won through the semi-finals last night (Tuesday, May 27).
Stacey Wilson, 21, is part of the dance group Addict Initiative, who were one of the two winners from last night’s show, alongside singer James Smith.
Addict Initiative performed a dramatic number inspired by the Snow White fairy tale.
The group faced a nervy end to the show when they were up against another singer, Jodi Bird, for a place in the finals.
But three of the judges, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell, picked the group over Jodi.
After their performance earlier in the evening Simon Cowell told Addict Initiative he thought they were the best dance group since Diversity, who won the talent show several years ago.
He added: “We have seen some good tonight, we have seen some bad, and now we have seen you who I think are incredible.”
Speaking to the Telegraph yesterday, Stacey’s mum Ann said her daughter, a former Montagu School student who is now a student at the Addict Dance Academy, was very excited about appearing on the show.
She said: “Stacey said it has been a bit of a surreal experience. She was delighted to get through to the semi-finals.”
The finals take place next Saturday, June 7.
Addict Initiative Dance Studios is based in Leicester town centre.
