Police have closed a stretch of the A43 near Corby after a serious accident this afternoon.

Stamford Road was shut at Stanion after the incident at 2.15pm today (Friday) by Geddington Road, close to the Holiday Inn hotel.

A cyclist was involved in a collision with a van and taken to Coventry Hospital by air ambulance with what police have described as “serious injuries”.

Police began to open the A43 from Weldon to Kettering just before 4pm, with the road going the other way still closed.
