The University of Northampton is inviting past and present students and staff to attend an afternoon tea party to celebrate its 10th birthday.

Formerly known as Nene College of Higher Education and University College Northampton, it became a university in 2005 and now has two campuses in the town.

Past students and staff are being invited to attend a birthday celebration on Park Campus from 4pm to 6pm on August 25.

The university would also like former students and staff to submit stories, photographs or other items to be used to form a ‘memories’ display at the event.

Nick Petford, Vice Chancellor said: “This event marks the 10-year anniversary of the University receiving the full University title and Research Degree Awarding powers, which was granted on August 25, 2005.

“We are immensely proud of this achievement and that of our graduates, students, staff and former staff all of whom have contributed to the ongoing success of the University over the last 10 years and beyond.

“To mark this achievement we would love to hear your memories. We invite you to submit stories, photos or other items which would form a ‘memories’ display at the celebration.”

Submissions can be made by email to 10years@northampton.ac.uk or on twitter using #UN10years.
