UKIP is celebrating its first elected candidates in the Kettering constituency.

Sam Watts was elected to Burton Latimer Town Council and Kevin Sills was elected to Desborough Town Council in last week’s elections, which were counted yesterday.

Jonathan Bullock, who fought the parliamentary seat, said: “After our solid performance in both the Parliamentary and borough elections we knew it was just a matter of time before we won seats in elections.

“So it is no suprise to win in the town council elections.

“Both Sam and Kevin are hard-working community activists and this will be invaluable experience for both them and UKIP as we continue to build our strength for future elections.”
