Two new bars are to open in Kettering town centre in the coming weeks.
Kino Lounge will open its doors at the former Old Corn Market building in Market Place on August 27.
The name of the new bar has been inspired by the building’s historical use as a cinema.
Most recently, the building was used as a row of shops until bar chain Loungers took it over earlier this year.
The new owners removed most of the inside of the building and have created a new mezzanine floor at the front of the historic venue, which opened as a cinema in 1912.
Vicky Helsby, opening co-ordinator for the new owners Loungers, said: “We have 51 bars around the country but this is one of the ones we have been most excited about.
“The building is looking great, we’re really pleased with it, and it should all be ready for the grand opening later this month.”
Elsewhere in the town centre, the former Bar Sun in Silver Street is set to re-open as the No.3 Pub and Kitchen.
Bar Sun closed earlier this year. The new owners are promising a bar with a relaxed atmosphere, music and entertainment.
