Police are appealing for witnesses after two men were assaulted outside a bar in Rushden.

The incident took place at about 3.15am on Saturday, January 23, outside the Cheers bar in Queen Street.

The two victims were outside the bar, which was closed at the time, when they were attacked.

One of the men was punched and kicked by an attacker before his friend intervened, who was also punched and kicked and later taken to hospital.

A police spokesman confirmed the men did not suffer serious injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward with information.
