Police have confirmed two people arrested in an armed raid at a house in Kettering on Thursday have been released on bail.
Officers shut off Montagu Street between about 1.30pm and 3.30pm after reports a person had a gun.
The busy town-centre road was shut off between its junctions with Eskdaill Street and Bath Road while police attended the scene.
In total, there were about a dozen police vehicles inside the cordon during the operation, as well as a number of armed officers. A police helicopter also hovered overhead.
A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said two arrests had been made but that both people had since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
The spokesman added that police had not discovered a firearm in their searches of the property.
