A date has been set for long-awaited repairs to a bridge in Geddington Road, Corby, to begin, with the work scheduled to start on July 14.
Weight restrictions were imposed in January 2011 as a result of concerns over its structural capacity.
Corby MP Andy Sawford, who has campaigned for the work to be done, said: “After 1,231 days these repairs are long overdue but the news that work will start is to be welcomed.
“The restrictions have been inconvenient for road users and have added time and costs to journeys for many vehicles unable to use the road.
“This has been a long campaign involving local businesses, residents and councillors.”
