A NEW citizens’ advice service will open in Kettering next week.

The Citizens’ Advice Bureau (CAB) at Kettering Council’s offices will officially open on Tuesday, May 8.

The move supports the council’s commitment to supporting local groups by sharing its offices, with the likes of HMRC, the NHS, Northamptonshire Police and Accommodation Concern already providing services from Bowling Green Road.

Valerie Hitchman, head of community services at the council, said:  “We are delighted that another important partner has asked to join us in our offices and complement the other services already available.

“We look forward to working with the CAB in their new offices.”

The CAB moves from its existing home in Horsemarket and its new facilities include a reception area, interview rooms and office space for the CAB’s staff and volunteers.

Debbie Egan, bureau chief officer of citizens advice services in Corby and Kettering, said: “Our commitment to providing a first class service will be further enhanced by our relocation into the council’s offices.”

The CAB will be open for appointments and drop-in visits from Monday to Friday from 9am to 2pm.

Assessments or follow-up appointments can also be arranged by calling 0844 855 2122.

The CAB provides support and information on a range of issues including debt, benefits, discrimination, employment and immigration.
