Retailers from Wellingborough will be showcasing their latest lines at a fashion show to promote the town centre taking place on Saturday, June 22.
Organised by the Wellingborough Business Improvement District, which is a scheme bringing together businesses to encourage trade, the summer Wellingborough Fashion Show will be held at the Tithe Barn in the town centre.
The free event will give businesses the opportunity to show off their clothing, accessories, hairstyles and make-up on the catwalk.
Models will be strutting their stuff down the runway during three 45-minute shows starting at 11am, 1.30pm, and 3pm.
Business Improvement District manager John Cable said: “The show will be a celebration of the town and its fashion. One of the strengths of our town centre is its independent retailers and this event will provide them with the platform to display their wonderfully-diverse selection of fashion-related goods.”
Retailers exhibiting include Louise’s Boutique, Peacocks, M&Co, Brides of Wellingborough, Dorothy Perkins, Bon Marche, Union and Warwicks.
Amanda Simpson, owner of Louise’s Boutique, based in the Swansgate Shopping Centre, said: “It gives the opportunity for people to see local businesses and for us to showcase our products and services. We will have several ranges of our high-quality, good-fitting lingerie across all sizes.”
Callum Aldrich, manager of independent retailer Union located on the corner of Market Street and Midland Road, said: “From Ted Baker to Diesel and Fred Perry, we’re going to be promoting the very best in mainstream fashion. We specialise in kitting out the town’s label-loving fashionistas with the latest in high street chic.”
Attendees will get a free goody bag and a show guide containing special offers from the stores involved and a chance to enter the free prize draw to win a share of £600.
Invitations have been posted out, but if you have not received one pick up a leaflet at any town centre shop or download an invitation at www.discoverwellingborough.co.uk.
