A woman was bitten by a dog as she waited for a bus in Barton Seagrave.

The 54-year-old woman was standing at the bus stop in Polwell Lane between 9.15pm and 9.30pm on Monday, April 25, when a dog approached her and bit her left arm, pulling her to the floor.

The dog let go once its owner arrived at the scene and both the dog and the man then ran off from the victim, who sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.

The dog owner was a man in his 20s and wore a black hooded top.

The only description of the dog is that it was big.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information regarding it.
