VIDEO: Wags and Wellies walk for Lakelands in Corby

Dozens of dogs and their owners have taken part in the fourth annual Wags and Wellies sponsored walk.

About 50 people and 40 pooches met in Gretton on Sunday morning for the charity walk, which it is hoped will raise £400 for Lakelands Hospice.

Paul Marlow, the community fundraiser for the hospice, in Corby, said he was pleased with how many were taking part.

“It’s been a record turnout,” said Mr Marlow, who organised the 3.5-mile trek. “I’m really pleased.”

Walkers earned a well-deserved bowl of soup and a drink at the Blue Bell Inn after the outing, with treats available for their furry four-legged friends.

Mr Marlow added: “It’s so well-received – and it’s as much about raising awareness as the funds.”
