CCTV footage has been released of the terrifying moment four machete-wielding men try to hack their way into a Wellingborough house.

The footage, released by Wellingborough Crimewatch, shows the offenders approach the house in Hardwick Road at 9.30pm on Tuesday, February 9.

Once at the house, they repeatedly try to kick the door down and one offender hacks at the house with his weapon.

The offenders failed to gain entry and they make off from the scene after one falls over.

One of the offenders has a distinctive walk and police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

There is a £100 reward available for information leading to an arrest.
