County snooker star Shaun Murphy has separated from his wife after just three years of marriage, according to reports.
The 26-year-old, who moved from the family home in Irthlingborough, where he was brought up, when he married wife Clare shortly after winning the 2005 World Championships as a qualifier, has left their Rotherham home, according to The Sun newspaper.
It says the devout Christian, who developed his snooker talent at the Rushden Snooker Centre, has moved out because he needs time to 'think things over'.
It quotes Clare as saying: "Shaun has moved out. We've got some things going on at the moment."
The pair met on an internet in a Christian chatroom and wed soon after Murphy won 250,000 as the 2005 world champion.
