PICTURE GALLERY: Wellingborough sisters lose their locks for charity

These sisters have parted with their beautiful long hair so they can help children who suffer hair loss during treatment for cancer.

Taeler Sheridan, 16, and sister Caera, six, of Wellingborough took the brave decision to lose their luscious locks this week so they could do something to help others.

The inches they had cut off will now be donated to the Little Princess Trust, which provides real hair wigs for free for youngsters who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment and other illnesses.

Mum Rachael Sheridan said she was very proud of her girls, and added: “It was Taeler who said she wanted to do it one day and then her little sister said she wanted to do it too.”

The Little Princess Trust can produce wigs at the cost of £350 where natural hair is not donated so the girls are hoping to raise enough for two wigs to be made.

Taeler and Caera both had more than seven inches of their hair cut off at Castello Lounge in Wellingborough, where their mum works, and this will now be sent off to the charity.

So far, their fundraising efforts have already raised £620 but Taeler, who goes to Sir Christopher Hatton Academy, and Caera, a pupil at Our Ladies Catholic Primary School, are hoping they can reach their target of £700.
