Nightclub proposal

A new nightclub is planned for a prime town centre location in Corby.

Applicants have asked Corby Council to consider their plan to open a new night-time venue called Rubix and Lounge 66 at 66 Corporation Street on the corner of George Street to replace an existing furniture shop.

It would occupy a key location in the town’s forthcoming leisure quarter. A Wetherspoons pub is already planned for former Corby Council premises in Grosvenor House, and a cinema is being built opposite the site. The successful La Fonte Italian restaurant is already flourishing further down George Street.

Owners Helical Bar have asked Corby Council to consider a change of use for the site from retail to bar use. Clearkut Leisure Services, which would operate the new nightclub, have already applied separately for a premises licence for the site and want to provide music and alcohol until 2am during the week and until 6am on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
