A new store opening in the empty former Focus premises in Corby next month will create 60 jobs in the town.
Liverpool-based B&M Homestore is opening a new shop at the 35,000 sq ft unit in Lloyds Road on Wednesday, June 19.
Carl Allen, operations manager for what is the UK’s fastest-growing chain store, said: “What is amazing about our growth is that it has been secured just through word of mouth.
“The secret to this is very simple – we sell branded products at discounted prices.
“The shopping public are obviously voting with their feet. We have been waiting for an opportunity in Corby for three years and we are delighted to have secured this site.”
Details of jobs at the store are available at the JobCentre in George Street, Corby.
B&M has 334 stores across the country, compared with 20 just six years ago.
In the past three years, it has been opening an average of one new shop every week.
The company is now one of Britain’s largest retailers with 2.5 million shoppers per week and employs more than 13,000 staff.
It sells 10,000 different discounted products, from everyday essentials such as groceries, toiletries and confectionery to household goods, toys and clothing.
The company said the new Corby store will specialise in paint, wallpaper, soft furnishings, homeware and gardening goods.
B&M was launched in 1978 and the company opened its first store in Blackpool, Lancashire.
The company acquired a number of former Kwik Save, Woolworth and Au Naturale stores across the country after they closed.
