Recent bouts of spring sunshine could soon make way for ‘significant’ snowfall with forecasters predicting an icy blast this weekend.
The forecast from Pitsford Weather Station will come as a dampner for county residents who have been enjoying the brighter days recently.
A spokesman said we could expect outbreaks of rain this week before snow makes its return, adding: “Rain will return on Friday, again rather persistent lasting pretty much the entire day and turning heavy for a time through the afternoon. Still we will have a moderate south-easterly wind.
“As for the weekend, an unsettled day lies ahead on Saturday with further outbreaks of rain. In fact as we move into Sunday the wind will tend to back more easterly and a return to colder conditions could see some significant snowfall. The new week could well start off cold with further snow flurries in a northerly breeze.”
