A video of a daredevil dog climbing to the top of a helter skelter and riding down has become an international sensation after being viewed 100,000 times in just four days.
Henry Kellie, 44, who works at Fairline in Corby, posted the video of his dog Tom using the slide on Saturday, and the short clip has since gone viral, with US TV company Fox News asking for permission to use it on one of its late-night shows.
Mr Kellie said: “It’s gone absolutely berserk, Tom is the talk of the town.
“I posted the video last Thursday, and by Saturday it only had about 100 hits.
“But since then, it’s just gone mad,
“Fox News have got in touch with me to ask if they can use the clip on their show, Red Eye with Greg Gutfield.”
The views for the video stood at 104,000 yesterday afternoon.
Mr Kellie, of Lubenham, near Market Harborough, said that six-year-old golden retriever Tom has been visiting the park in Lubenham where the helter skelter is based since he was a puppy.
The adventurous dog has also followed his owner in climbing up trees.
He added: “I regularly walk him in the park and one day I went to the top of the slide and Tom followed me up there and slid down with me – I did wonder how he did it.
“I then started walking away, and I turned round and saw him climbing up there again and sliding down.
“I couldn’t believe it.
“He loves the slide and I’ve asked people using it if they can get off so Tom can have a go.
“So many people have said I should put the video online and the reception it’s had is incredible.”
