Have your say

When taking images of people, and if your camera allows it, shoot with aperture priority and set your camera for the largest aperture (smallest F number).

Combine this with the telephoto end of your lens and you will isolate the subject from the background and your image will look much more professional.

The ratio of the distance of your camera to the subject and the distance of the subject to the background is the third parameter that determines how isolated your subject is from the background.
