Five people could lose their jobs after Thomas Cook announced that it will close its Rushden store.
The travel agents, on the town’s High Street, will be one of a number of the chain’s stores to close across the country.
Bosses have decided to axe stores that were failing to meet performance targets, or were in an area that had more than one store.
A spokesman for the company said it was working with staff at the Rushden shop to find alternative employment within the business, but those who could not find a suitable alternative role, or who wanted to leave the company, would face redundancy.
The decision was made following a three-month consultation period. The store will cease trading on Tuesday, July 23.
