A taxi driver was attacked and had his takings stolen.

The driver had stopped to drop off a man and two women at about 4.30am on Sunday, February 22, in Abington Park Crescent, Northampton.

The women got out of the vehicle but the man stayed behind.

A scuffle then took place and the offender stole cash before making off in the direction of Abington Park.

The offender is described as black, in his mid-20s and about 5ft 6in tall.

The women he was travelling with are in their early 20s, one white and one mixed race.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101.
