Residents in Corby are invited to celebrate its woodlands by taking part in three free walks.
They are being held to mark Love Parks Week 2012.
Corby Council’s woodland project is hoping to raise awareness of the importance of parks and green spaces and will be launching three trails in Thoroughsale and Hazel Wood to celebrate the town’s ancient woodland.
The Hazel event will take place on Tuesday, July 24, from 10am until 11am, the Willow walk is on Wednesday, July 25, from 10am until 11am, and the Oak event is on Thursday, July 26, from 10am until midday.
Corby Council’s lead member for community, Cllr John McGhee, said: “By launching these free walks we are hoping to drive the message forward that our parks and green spaces are an important part of our borough and should be used, enjoyed and taken pride in.
“Parks and green spaces are essential to healthy, happy and strong communities and we are very lucky in Corby to have such quality green areas throughout the town.”
To book a place on any of the walks call Rebecca Bishop on 01536 464019, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The walks are suitable for all ages and abilities.
