Young swimmers have been awarded medals at a ceremony in Rothwell.
Leiya Murray and Kyle Knight, members of Rothwell Amateur Swimming Club, were decorated at the awards at Montsaye Community College’s pool.
Alan Pote, chairman of the club, said: “Both of them have made enormous progress over the past year so they were chosen for the award for that reason.”
The club’s annual awards ceremony was held in November but Leiya and Kyle were hand-picked to receive their special awards last month.
To gain a medal at the annual awards ceremony, members have to swim to the county times set for swimming certain distances.
The club has been running for 37 years and takes all ages from four upwards.
It is run purely on a voluntary basis and, with about 55 members, more volunteers are needed.
Anybody who would like to become a member, or anybody who wants to help the club can email rasc1@live. co.uk or call 07852 435828 and leave a landline telephone number for a return call.
