A swimathon on behalf of the Kettering Samaritans took place at Wellingborough swimming pool earlier this month.
A total of 24 people took part in the fundraising swim, which took place on Saturday, May 3.
Among them was a five-year-old who swam 40 lengths. There was also an eight-year-old, a 10-year-old and two 11-year-olds who each managed a massive 128 lengths of the swimming pool.
Organisers from Kettering and District Samaritans, who are based at 111 Montagu Street in the town, have paid tribute to all those who took part in the occasion. They have also thanked the staff at the pool for their support and help.
Last year’s swimathon raised about £2,400, and although this year’s total is not yet known, it is hoped it will at least match the figure from 12 months ago.
