Oundle School’s 1st team netballers have been crowned county champions at a tournament held at Northampton High School.
Winning five out of their six matches the team will represent Northamptonshire in the regional finals in Lincoln in the new year.
In their first match of the tournament against Campion School Oundle won a convincing 12-1 victory.
With no time to rest in between matches, they went straight into their second match against Northampton High School.
After a shaky first half, the Oundle team pulled the result back to win 4-3. The girls then played Kettering Buccleuch Academy and won 12-2.
The girls returned to the court to play Wellingborough where they suffered their only defeat, losing 5-6.
Their final group stage match against Sponne School ended victorious with a 12-1 score.
Captain, Sacha Wight, 17, said: “We faced Wellingborough in the semi-finals, who we had narrowly lost to in the group stage.
“However, we did not let past results dictate our attitude towards the game and finished the match strongly.”
