Teenagers aged between 16 and 18 are invited to take part in a summer project being held at The Core at Corby Cube.

The venue has teamed up with performance arts organisation, Urban Angel, to provide the project for young people in Corby and Kettering who are not in work or education.

As part of the scheme, they will work together to create a spectacular new site-specific piece using contemporary arts and multi-media technologies.

The show will be performed at the Church of the Epiphany at 2pm and 7pm on Thursday, August 23, and Friday, August 24.

Tickets are £3 each and can be booked by calling the ticket office on 01536 470 470 or by visiting www.thecorecorby.com.

A spokesman for the scheme said: “Urban Angel is an East Midlands based group which supports young people by offering training opportunities to develop their performance and media arts skills. During the project young people are taking part in projection mapping and creating digital music, as well as developing drama and spoken word skills.

“The sessions offer the flexibility to try out all the art forms or to focus on a preferred area of interest, which can be on the stage, backstage, or both. People taking part in the project will also have the chance to gain a Bronze Arts Award accreditation.”

New members are welcome to join Urban Angel at any point and the sessions take place every Monday to Wednesday from 10am to 4pm until August 24.

The sessions are free. To take part or to find out more contact Stephen McLaren on 07970 946977 or email Oberon@ntlworld.com
