Pupils are having their say during a police week of action in schools across
Wellingborough.

Officers have already visited Christopher Hatton Academy, Wrenn, Weavers and Our Lady’s School, and on Friday, November 23, they will be carrying out parking patrols at the Diamond Learning Centre and St Barnabas School.

They carried out parking patrols and spoke to youngsters during lunchtime interactive sessions.

PCSO Chris Howard, schools liaison officer, said: “Our interactive lunchtime sessions were a key part of the operation, when officers and colleagues from partner agencies, such as Wellingborough Homes, NORSE and Women’s Aid were on hand to talk to pupils about a range of different issues.

“They could talk to us about any matters that concern them and we’ll also be asking them to give us their views about local policing and council matters.”

PCSO Howard said some of the pupils reported litter, parking and speeding as being the biggest issues for them.

An operation at Park Junior School this week was aimed at tackling irresponsible parking by parents outside the school.
