A student at Brooke Weston Academy, Corby, has won a Nuffield research placement at the University of Northampton to work on a computer programming project.

Pippa Hawkley will work on the assignment for six weeks in the summer and will be overseen by Dr Abdeldjalil Bennecer, the senior lecturer in engineering at the school of science and technology. Nuffield research placements are awarded to more than 1,000 students across the UK each year, giving them the chance to work with professional scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians.
