Staff at a pawnbrokers have been presented with a trophy after being judged the best in the East Midlands.

The award was handed over to Jeremy Earl, manager of Harvey and Thompson pawnbrokers in Corporation Street, Corby.

The shop, which also employs four assistants and has 6,000 registered customers, will now go through to the company’s regional competition.

If it is successful in the next round all five members of staff are in with the chance of winning a dream holiday – the top prize in the national contest.

Mr Earl said: “We’re delighted to have won the trophy and think we’re in with a chance of getting to the finals.

“The store was judged on it’s performance and customer care. We had five visits from mystery shoppers and scored 100 per cent each time.”
