Store marks re-opening with pledge for charity

All eyes will be on a new-look opticians in Corby at the weekend which is marking its refurbishment with a pledge to raise funds for the charity Guide Dogs for the Blind.

On Saturday, the store in New Post Office Square will welcome some four-legged friends to an event to mark its re-opening and its 22nd anniversary in the town.

Local guide dogs and their owners will officially open the re-vamped premises at 11am.

The store has pledged to raise £5,000 for guide dogs, in partnership with Specsavers in Kettering.

The teams have already raised nearly £1,000 and hope that the weekend’s activities, which include a bake sale, raffle and name the dog competition, will add to the total.
