Two people were arrested for burglary after a stop-and-search led to the discovery of stolen jewellery, camera equipment and telephones.
A burglary took place on January 2 in the Naseby Road area of Kettering.
Officers were carrying out patrols in the area the next day (January 3) when they stopped and searched a 16-year-old boy and 19-year-old man from Kettering.
The 19-year-old man was found to be in possession of an Asian gold necklace.
A police spokesman said: “As similar items of jewellery had been stolen in the burglary the day before, the man was arrested and a search was quickly carried out at his home address.
“Further items of Asian gold jewellery were found in his home, along with camera equipment, telephones and foreign currency, which was identified as being stolen from the recent burglary.
“Further enquiries linked the 16-year-old boy to the burglary and he was also arrested.”
The two people arrested have been bailed pending further investigations.
The police spokesman added: “The victim is grateful for the recovery of the highly sentimental items.”
